saturday, august 29th, 1970. 600,000 people experienced the debut performance of a new “supergroup”: emerson, lake and palmer. it was a spectacular, daring stage show. this was roughly 5 years before i was born. last night, i too had the opportunity to experience that debut performance. a guy i met at a workshop we’re both attending promptly got the ‘birth of a band’ dvd from his briefcase when i mentioned having a blast at the carl palmer concert at the galaxy a few weeks ago. so i have a weekend with the dvd before i return it to him on monday. i will definitely watch it again.
on the running front, nothing much happened this week, as my knee decided to start hurting again. so i’m babying it. will go for a short test run this evening. not running sucks the big moose @$%#!
I like ELP…a buddy of mine just bought the Rolling Stones “Ladies & Gentlemen…” DVD on ebay. Two shows recorded live in Texas in 1972. It’s pretty cool to view a slice of the 70’s. Love it.
Take care of your knee gnatty!
