here is one point of view on twice-a-day runs… http://www.pfitzinger.com/labreports/twoadays.shtml
sometimes i do doubles, usually with shorter distances, when i cannot wait for the next day to run again. you know, that feeling of “i gotta get out there and run!”…
what is your opinion on twice-a-day runs?
they are great; i do them all the time
they are a great idea, but i never do them
they are an invitation to injury
they are just “junk miles”
run twice a day? why?
good idea, off i go!

I’ve run twice a day once in a while but it’s pretty rare…
I think twice a days are good IF… you split the distance you were planning on running. I can’t believe you have me on your blogroll! I’m honored! Run Good!
I have run twice a day but I don’t make a habit of it. I usually run everyday and bike at least a 1/2 hour so I get in a different burn. I suppose if I was training for something spectular – and the plan I was following suggested two-a-day runs…I would do it. I’m a good follower.
Have a great weekend!!
On rare occasion if I don’t feel well or if I can’t squeeze in enough miles in during the morn I’ll split the mileage up and run twice.
Good Grief… TWICE in one day??? YOUR MY HERO!! LOL
thanks for the advice and support. Maybe one day I can look forward to enjoying running as much as you do!!

I don’t do two a days but I do like to do “bricks” in which I cycle then run immediately thereafter. That first mile is always a killer because cycling tightens my hamstrings up.

I sometimes do a run in the AM and a run in the PM on weekends. especially in winter as daylight is at a premium and there are multiple social runs ie Saturday am Santa Monica mountain Goats Saturday pm Hash LAH3.. It makes the trails fun & helps get my mileage up. ZZT
